Sea Born Boats has recently released a new “Sport” option package to their popular line of FX Bay boats. It is available for the 21′ – 24′ models. This package offers a large cost savings over the traditional model. It’s important to note that going with the Bay Sport is not an additional set of features added onto the standard boat. The Bay Sport replaces many standard features with lower cost options. When price comparing boats for purchase, the Bay Sport option would fall into line below the standard package since it has less features (See graphic below).

Examples of feature differences on the Sport package include:

• Standard cleats instead of the flush pop up cleats (toe savers!)
• Analog gauges over the newer outboard digital guages
• Fiberglass bait well lid over the clear view
• Single Battery set-up
• Standard steering wheel over tilt
• One aerator pump for multiple live-wells
• No GPS
• No Coaming cushions
• & More (or less we should say haha)

Many of these features we’ve all come to know and love on new boats across the industry. When looking at payment price differences, the cost for each added feature is even easier to justify. What’s a few dollars a month for tilt steering that will make your driving experience more enjoyable every time you’re out on the water! Think about this, that first time you clip a toe on a cleat you’ll be wishing for the flush mount cleats that came standard and we’re sure it would be cheaper than a broken toe medical bill.

However, for those who are on a very strict budget, getting access to the FX Bay hull design though without the added cost is pretty awesome. The step hull design, bow flare, and solid structure is now more affordable than ever. Some items can be custom added at the dealer level such as a different GPS to get the boat back to an acceptable standard.
